PRESENT
Conceived, planned, developed and currently managers this multifaceted business consulting firm. The organization’s primary emphasis is providing state-of-the-art consulting services to the chiropractic profession. This has included expert court testimony, practice valuation, contract mediation, buy-sell agreements and ownership transfers. In addition, provide consultative advice on business strategy and operations to other organizations – both within and outside the healthcare services industry.
- Developed and market this multi-faceted, personalized program of business development and practice management – bringing proven marketing and operational strategies and insights to chiropractic practitioners nationwide.
- Areas of endeavor include: practice assessment; career goal evaluation; ‘low cost/no cost’ marketing; improving revenue; value-added services; operational procedures; patient retention; cost control; billing; information technology integration, staff training, and ongoing evaluation/advice.
- Created and teaches a five-module Practice Management seminar. In addition, is guest lecturer for many Colleges and organizations throughout The US, Canada, and Australia.
- Published five procedure training books, as well as “Quick Start”, a book for new graduates that guides them in the establishment or purchase of their first practice.
- Chiropractic Consultant to, a venture capital group whose business plan included the purchase and operations of chiropractic practices. Their purpose was to establish a national network of Chiropractic clinics, which ultimately would become offered to the public as the first public Chiropractic Company.
- Reviewed the firm’s overall business plan. Provided an in-depth critique and conceptual overview.
- Contracted to revise/rewrite the entire business plan, and to create an operations manual organization board executive operations manual complete with job classifications and descriptions which integrated valuable intellectual property developed in previous practice management experience.
- Recruited, and trained and lead a team of experts which analyzed practices to purchase and operate with precise, targeted approaches that dramatically improved virtually all measurable indices of their business performance.
- Performed due diligence on practices which the organization was considering acquiring.
- Trained doctors to implement the system of patient and business management in which Dr. Parker developed for his own clinic system.
- In addition to consulting duties, performed additional functions in network-wise quality assurance continuing professional education, case management, operational efficiency and recruitment of doctors of Chiropractic.
- Accepted the position as President 1994 of the professional corporation required to bring this concept to practice. Resigned the position to develop “thePARKERprocess” (described above).
CHIROPRACTIC ENTREPRENEUR FOUNDER – CEO
Over a seventeen year period, conceived, planned, developed, expanded and managed a multi-site chiropractic business which was unique within the industry. Dr. Parker expanded his business from one office to thirteen locations, via developing partnerships with newly graduated doctors of Chiropractic. His clinic system though primarily Chiropractic also included the development of one multi-disciplinary (Chiropractic, Medical Doctor, and Physical Therapist) Rehabilitation clinic.
- Opened initial practice in San Diego in 1977. In addition to the exceptional delivery of chiropractic services, developed and implemented innovative concepts, techniques, practices and processes which optimized the efficiency and profitability of the office unit.
- Over the next several years opened additional office – with locations in southern and northern California, and Scottsdale Arizona.
- Utilized quality management/continuous improvement methodologies in marketing and business operation. Developed a management system which clearly defined all roles of office TEAM. Each office was coordinated without need of middle management through clearly all roles, and a system of individual accountability. Each office maximized the value of each individual as a contributor to the mission and profitability of the office. Tracked, monitored and continuously improved measurable indices of performance in every area.
- Repositioned the role of the chiropractor from a traditional ‘caregiver’ and pain reliever to feature his/her educational and motivational abilities. Trained staff to continuously teach patients concepts and practices of wellness – a healthy, holistic, integrated lifestyle.
- The success, growth and profitability of this multi-site operation allowed for an additional expansion – partnering with other chiropractors (including recent graduates). Recruited, selected, trained, managed and motivated other practitioners to succeed within this system.
- Headline speaker throughout the Chiropractic profession with just about every major group there is.
